General Purpose of Job: The Gift Shop Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Rio Grande Hospital (RGV) retail Gift Shop, online Gift Shop, and mobile kiosks.
The Supervisor is responsible for leading the volunteers in delivering customer service, delivery of goods, and compassionate care to achieve the hospital and Auxiliary’s Mission.
The Supervisor will oversee the day-to-day operations including budgeting, staffing, sales, reporting and merchandise records.
Responsible for the general upkeep and safety of the facility.

Supervise and oversee aspects the physical retail store, online presence, mobile kiosk/s, and the clinic gift shops (two locations).
Supervise Gift Shop employees, volunteers, providing direction, coaching, and training, to achieve company goals and expectations.
Hire, oversee, and manage the Rio Grande Valley hospital Gift Shop sales associate (when applicable) and supervise the volunteer schedule.
Oversee daily operations including opening/closing procedures, cash handling, pricing, and displaying merchandise.
Work with Gift Shop Manager to oversee the operations of the RGV hospital Gift Shop.
Assist Gift Shop Manager in overseeing and managing the online Gift Shop store as directed.
This includes updating content inventory, uploading pictures of new merchandise as well as filling online orders in a timely manner.
Ensure that merchandise is ordered, checked in promptly and correctly, stored at off-site warehouse, and is displayed on the sales floor and listed online.
Prepare, manage, and adhere to Auxiliary and department budget to maintain expenditure controls.
Oversee bookkeeping regarding sales, payment of invoices, and accounts receivable ledger.
Prepare financial information for Accountant in a timely manner.
Present monthly financial reports to Gift Shop Manager, Director, and Auxiliary Board.
Maintain the operational credit card account.
Work with Gift Shop Manager to develop an annual sales plan.
Work with Gift Shop Manager for the coordination of sales, special events, and annual inventory.
Maintain volunteer electronic files and schedule through VSys-One (a volunteer management database).
Demonstrate business practices and personal actions that are ethical and adhere to corporate compliance and integrity guidelines.
Work with Gift Shop Manager to maintain awareness of market trends through monitoring and adjusting sales to ensure customer satisfaction and maximum profit.
Willing to travel and spend day(s) at the Corpus Christi campus for training and/or events.
Travel to gift shows and conferences at the approval of the Gift Shop Manager.
Be accessible for after-hours emergency situations, Monday through Sunday.
Participates in department/volunteer meetings, events, and activities, as needed.
Coordinate and assist Volunteer Supervisor/Manager with volunteer activities, on-boarding recruiting process as needed.
Assist in the communication process and helping all parties understand decisions.
Provide in-services and information to volunteers as needed on sales and customer service.
Always maintain utmost level of confidentiality.
Other duties as required.
Education and/or Experience: Experience in retail management required.
Minimum 3 years is required.
Experience in supervisory/management is preferred.
Minimum 3 years is required.
Experience in Point of Systems (POS) sales is preferred.
Experience working with all levels within an organization is required.
Experience in healthcare is preferred.
Proficiency in MS Office [Outlook, Excel, Word] or similar software is required.
Associate degree (A.

) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
