Position Summary:
Project Manager position is a licensed professional engineer with 6+ years of design experience.
The Project Manager will be responsible to manage the development and design of transportation projects with non-licensed personnel and technical staff while maintaining the organizations production standard level of service and quality, customer service expectations and team accountability.
Project Manager works closely with the Director to provide oversight, guidance, and leadership to the team of professional services.
In addition to project development and delivery responsibilities, the candidate must demonstrate the ability to manage budgets, schedules, sub consultants, teaming relationships and client interaction.
They will assist the Director with leading business development activities for the transportation division.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Management and Leadership
Develop new and maintain current client relationships for business development.
Assist with development of transportation projects, and submit requests for funding through local, state, and federal agencies.
Lead communications with project stakeholders.
All other duties assigned by management.
Design & Technical Oversight
Experience in leading a team for designing highway design projects (PS&E), including horizontal and vertical geometry design, use of Bentley OpenRoads Designer (ORD) modeling, creation of ORD templates, culvert and drainage design, retaining wall design, quantity calculations, miscellaneous details and development of deliverables.
Provides project management oversight and applies engineering expertise in the daily operational tasks of preparing Plans, Specification & Estimate (PS&E), preliminary engineering reports, schematic design, drainage design and TCPs for roadway projects.
Qualifications
TxDOT Precertifications
Experience with and knowledge of TxDOT funding, design and construction standards, specifications, policies, and procedures.
Provides positive relationships with potential clients in South and Central Texas such as TxDOT, RMA, MPO, and municipalities.
Experience with TxDOT funding programs, their agreements, and associated schedules/deadlines.
Education and Experience:
Bachelors or Masters of Engineering degree from an accredited
Licensed Texas Professional Engineer (PE)
6+ years of work experience within the field of highway design, transportation engineering and program
