A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A STORM WATER MANAGER
As a Storm Water Manager, you spend your day monitoring the potential illegal dump sites in the flood plains, and provides progress reports to the Director of Engineering on a regular basis.
Your work typically involves assists in responding to citizens' concerns and/or requests for services, and coordinates necessary action.
Your job is essential to the city, you perform investigations of the storm water systems for all new subdivisions to ensure compliance with the City's storm water management ordinance.
You are constantly on your toes and ready for any new and unexpected challenges that may arise in the city.
This can include researching state and federal regulations related to water quality and develops comprehensive plans for compliance.
You enjoy being helpful and have no problem providing assistance and support to other divisions within the department as needed.
The city needs someone like you with skills in conducting stormwater improvement projects and finding genuine enjoyment in what you do!
QUALIFICATIONS FOR A STORM WATER MANAGER
Associate's Degree in Business Administration, Architecture, Engineering, Biology, Geology or related field.
Preferred: Bachelor Degree in related field
Educational Substitute: Three (3) years' experience in storm water services
Requires Two (2) years required in managing water resources, including sanitary or storm sewer design, draining design, or related experience.
Preferred: Four (4) years' experience required in managing water resources, including sanitary or storm sewer design, draining design, or related experience.
Texas Department of State Health Services Code Enforcement Officer certification preferred.
Must have a current valid class "C" driver's license from the Texas Department of Public Safety with a satisfactory driving record
Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test administered by the City of Edinburg at the city's expense
Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
