Job Opening *Job Title*: Chief Operating Officer *Location:* San Juan, TX *Salary Range:* $65,000 to $85,000; Commensurate with experience *Position Overview*: Catholic Charities of the Rio Grande Valley is seeking a highly experienced and dedicated individual to join our organization as the Chief Operating Officer (COO).
Under this role, you will play a crucial role in leading and managing the day-to-day operations of your organization, ensuring the smooth operation of various departments and programs.
Your primary focus will be driving strategic initiatives, optimizing operational efficiency, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality services to our beneficiaries which includes thousands of people in the Rio Grande Valley.

*Responsibilities: * 1.
Strategic Planning and Execution a.
Collaborate with the executive team to develop and implement the organization’s budget, strategic goals, and objectives.
b.
Monitor progress, evaluate outcomes, and make necessary adjustments to ensure the successful execution of strategic initiatives.
c.
Identify opportunities for growth, innovation, and improvement in service delivery.
2.
Operational Management: a.
Oversee the day-to-day operations of all departments and programs, ensuring seamless coordination and collaboration.
b.
Develop and implement effective processes and procedures to optimize operational efficiency and effectiveness.
c.
Monitor key performance indicators and metrics to evaluate organizational performance and make data-driven decisions.
d.
Foster a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement throughout the organization.
3.
Financial Management: a.
Work closely with the finance team to develop and manage the organization’s budget, ensuring financial sustainability.
b.
Monitor financial performance, analyze variances, and implement corrective actions as needed.
c.
Identify and pursue opportunities for fundraising, grants and partnerships to support the organization’s mission and programs.
4.
Program Development and Evaluation: a.
Collaborate with program managers to develop and expand programs that address the needs of our community.
b.
Monitor program outcomes and impact, and implement evaluation processes to ensure program effectiveness.
c.
Stay informed about emerging trends, best practices, and regulations in the non-profit sector to guide program development.
5.
Stakeholder Engagement and Partnerships: a.
Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including community leaders, government agencies, and partner organizations.
b.
Represent the organization in meetings, conferences, and public events to enhance its visibility and influence.
c.
Collaborate with stakeholders to identify opportunities for collaborating with stakeholders to identify opportunities for collaboration and partnership to maximize impact.
6.
Leadership team development a.
Prepare and present reports to the Advisory Board quarterly b.
Schedule and facilitate leadership team meetings *Requirements: * - Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a relevant field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Proven experience in a leadership role within a non-profit organization, preferably in a similar capacity.
- Strong understanding of non-profit operations, governance, and regulatory compliance.
- Demonstrated strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and inspire diverse stakeholders.
- Proven experience in financial management and budgeting.
- Ability to foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
- Knowledge of the Rio Grande Valley community and its unique challenges is a plus.
