Description:
A service manager is responsible for supervising auto service technicians, mechanics, service advisors, car porters, and other automotive service department employees.
They ensure positive profit margins for service and vehicle repairs, build and maintain customer relationships, and field customer complaints.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage and establish policies and procedures for the Service Department to maximize workshop
utilization and productivity to ensure profitability and required volume and level of sales, gross profit
and customer satisfaction.
- Maintain Owner loyalty.
- Maintain Service Department employee satisfaction.
- Protect the Corporate investment.
- Develop and maintain a working relationship within all Dealership departments.
- Promote good customer relations and a positive working environment.
- Maintain gross profit at 67.
5% or above.
- Maintain expenses at 56% or below.
- Maintain receivables in a 30 day or less status at all times.
- Maintain quality control of repairs performed.
Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS
- Thorough knowledge of the dealership’s policies, procedures and products.
- Extensive experience in technical repairs, servicing and estimating.
- Forecasting, budgeting, evaluating and problem solving experience.
- A minimum of 5 years management experience with supervisory/personnel management
capabilities in a business environment.
- Ability to identify, comprehend and act on changing customer and employee requirements; must be
able to be work well under pressure of deadlines.
- PC skills; familiarity with ADP Automotive Computer System.
- Possess good customer relations abilities, polite and courteous manner, cooperative attitude, team
oriented.
- High School Diploma or equivalent; some college is preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English; including reading and writing
- Maintain a valid drivers license; ability to drive a variety of vehicle types; insurable.
- Maintain a professional appearance and appropriate behavior during all working hours as well as
business meetings/ functions.
