This person must be a proven Technician with Heavy Equipment experience, who is a self-starter and disciplined.
Excellent communication and listening skills are essential.
The person in this position will work with a high degree of independence while reporting to local Service Manager and Branch Manager.
*Qualifications Certified*• Provide own hand tools and storage necessary to perform preventative maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment •Effective written and verbal communication skills •Self-motivated and capable of following directions and effectively working in a team environment •Ability to recognize and react to safety-related issues •Ability to work on LiuGong, Caterpillar, John Deere, Dressta, Genie, JLG, Wacker Neuson, Cummins, and other major equipment manufacturer machinery •Troubleshooting and/or diagnostic skills for Engine, Transmission/Drivetrain, Hydraulic, Electrical, A/C, On Board Computer, and Electronic Control Module •A good attitude is a MUST •Flexibility and willingness to work nights or weekends as needed Must work well with others Maintains a positive attitude and role model for the other employees to follow.
Works in a neat, orderly, and safe manner, constantly seeking to improved methods and the safety of others.
New and Used Equipment to be repaired will include (but not limited to): Aerial Boom Lifts, Scissor lifts, Extended Heavy Equipment Forklifts, Sweepers, Skid Steer Loaders, Light Machines, Generators, Wheel Loaders, Excavators, Bull dozers, Graders, Pumps, and the like.
Maintain warranties on engines, machines, and trucks.
Demonstrate a positive and professional behavior, flexibility, and effective communication skills in their interactions with others both internally and externally.
Pro-actively establish effective relationships and support others in achieving high performance.
Demonstrate professional behavior, Influences people rather than demand others.
Responsible for exhibiting professional behavior with both internal and external business associates that reflects positively on the company and is consistent with the company’s policies and practices.
Observe, test and evaluate operation of all Heavy Equipment.
Disassemble equipment to remove and install parts.
Equipment Mechanic I - 2 years in Automotive, medium/heavy truck, or construction equipment diagnostics and repair •Associate's degree in Automotive and/or Diesel Technology may substitute for 2 years of experience, Certificates of course completion from a Technical Training Institute in Automotive and Diesel Technology may substitute for experience on a year for year basis Knowledge of complex hydraulics, electrical, computer and mechanical systems, arc and oxygen acetylene welding, test equipment used to diagnose and repair equipment and electronic components of vehicles •Operate equipment and vehicles with possession of all necessary licenses and certificates •Skilled in Basic computer applications including email and internet usage Requires specialized knowledge attained through experience and education •Certification as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic *Responsibilities* •Interpret parts and service manuals to properly diagnose repairs needed as well as order appropriate parts •Maintain accurate record keeping of all daily tasks and work orders •Work safely and follow all instructions related to company policies and regulatory agencies during the performance of duties •Perform visual inspections on equipment and provide written reports of conditions and deficiencies •Produce clean and accurate work •Must be responsible and dependable •Keep the work area clean Repair, replace, adjust and align components of equipment.
Maintains company machines/equipment and ensures co-workers are doing the same.
Clean and maintain equipment.
Test equipment to verify adequacy of repairs.
Ensure work assignments carried out to the highest standards.
Inspects components to insure maximum parts are being reused to control repair costs.
Maintains a minimum set of tools required for job performance.
Creates repair estimates and submit information to substantiate quotes and estimates.
Prepares all parts requisitions, time cards, or service reports, as requested by the supervisor.
Ensures they are legible and accurate with sufficient detail for service accounting needs.
Have the ability to read, analyze and interpret documents, procedures, general business periodicals and professional journals.
Mathematical Skills Required- Basic math abilities including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
