Responsibilities:
POSITION SUMMARY:
Performs specialized technical duties, with guidance of Sr Network Engineer, related to the support of local area network, wide area networks and the equipment supporting connectivity throughout the organization and connectivity from facilities to the corporate office/Siemens Data Center.
Responsible for overall maintenance and support of network equipment and components such as but not limited to; VPN access, remote access server, wireless connectivity, switches, circuits, controllers, gateways, wiring closets, fiber cabling, racks, power units, wireless telecommunication, server management, etc.
Position is responsible for the resolution of connectivity, configuration, security issues and providing a specialized level of technical support to the Help Desk staff and serves as backup to server and database management.
The STHS network is part of an extensive networking backbone, this position is responsible for the knowledge associated with a large variety of networking technologies.
Position understands the concepts of logical network structure and software/application management and utilizes knowledge in the delivery of network solutions.
This position provides these services while maintaining the highest level of customer service and commitment to the Service Excellence Program.

Ability for abstract reasoning and a talent for explaining the abstractions in concrete terms.
2.
Ability to empathize with people of many backgrounds functioning at any staff or operational level in the hierarchy of the hospital.
3.
Ability to communicate effectively when presenting recommendations, tactful when identifying existing managerial problem areas, and patient and meticulous in implementation.
4.
Ability to recognize, analyze and resolve complex hardware, software, system, and network problems.
5.
Able to travel 25% of time.
6.
Must demonstrate commitment and adherence to STHS’s Compliance Program and Code of Conduct through compliance with all policies and procedures, the Code of Conduct, attendance at required training and immediately reporting suspected compliance issue(s) to the Compliance Officer.
EDUCATION / LICENSURE:
1.
Bachelor’s or Associate Degree in CS, CIS, or related with emphasis in Networking, Programming or demonstrated leadership experience with the support of a large and diverse network environment.
2.
Minimum of 2 years experience with network connectivity, operating systems, application installation/managemet required with database/server maintenance experience a plus.
CCNA or MCSE desired.
3.
Knowledge in multiple types of network architectures, protocols, tools and equipment.
4.
Supported network in a large complex environment that include an Active Directory domain, wireless networks, vlans, wans, and multiple lans.
5.
Knowledge of personal computer hardware, network and peripherals - network, server, and PC troubleshooting skills.
6.
Experience with leading or managing projects.
7.
Experience utilizing computer hardware and software systems such as, Word processing, Spreadsheets, Internet, E-Mail, Inventory, Database software.
