Vice President of College Partnerships, Persistence, and Completion
National College Completion Team
The Vice President of College Partnerships, Persistence, and Completion sets the vision and strategic direction for college persistence, 4 and 6 year college graduation, college to career placement, grant funded out of school time programming on 26 campuses, raising 1.
5 MM through our internal giving campaign, and building college partnerships.

The National Vice President of College Completion & Career Attainment will set the vision and direction for how IDEA Public Schools advances its mission of “College For All,” and realizes its vision of becoming the number one producer of college graduates, period.
This Vice President will set the vision and direction for how IDEA leads students “through-college-to-career.
” They will lead and manage the work of (1) college persistence & completion, (2) college-to-career, (3) college partnerships, (4) alumni funding, and (5) quality after schools programming.
They ensure IDEA students (A) have quality after school programming (B) attain the adequate financial resources necessary to attend, persist and graduate from college (C) build a best-in-class career services center and support, while also cultivating and leveraging partnerships in pursuit of our college completion and career goals.
For the 2023-2024 academic year the topline goals that drive this work include: 55% of 2018s graduate in 6 years (cohort: 848 alumni) 25% of 2020s graduate in 4 years (cohort: 1,153 alumni) 90% of 2023s re-enroll in the spring of 2024 (cohort: 1,958 alumni) 85% of 2022s re-enroll in the fall of 2023 (cohort: 1,730 alumni) 80% of 2023 graduates attain a full time job (or pursue further education) 6 months after college graduation (cohort: 400 alumni) 10 New College Partnerships confirmed by June 30th Raise $1.
5 million dollars by June 30th, 2024 90% of Full-Time Staff (2023-2024) donate to Give Me Five (approximately 8,000 employees) 5,430 students are served for 60+ days in Out of School Time Programming Supervisory Responsibilities: This Vice President will report to the Chief College Officer at IDEA Public Schools.
This individual will directly manage a team of 4 direct reports, including: 1 Director of College Partnerships 1 Director of Financial Literacy & Alumni Funding 1 Managing Director of Out of School Time Programming 1 Managing Director of Alumni Affairs Additionally, this Vice President will ensure management structures are in place for 18 Full Time Employees (not direct reports).
Location: This is a full-time remote position based in Texas with preference given to candidates who live in Austin, El Paso, Houston, Permian Basin (Midland/Odessa), Rio Grande Valley, San Antonio, and Tarrant County (Fort Worth), or who are willing to relocate.
Travel Expectations: Up to 40% of the time during the busiest parts of the year to support team initiatives What You’ll Do – Accountabilities In this role you will: Oversee post graduate vision and direction for IDEA Public Schools Oversee out of school time programming vision and direction for IDEA Public Schools Oversee internal loan and scholarship program for IDEA Public Schools Oversee partnerships with college and universities for IDEA Public Schools Execute critical national operating mechanisms Manage procedures and achieve transformational college access, persistence, and completion results Monitor and respond quickly to changes that impact college access, persistence, and completion in regions and states Analyze data dashboards, share resources, and communicate progress so that schools meet expectations and achieve goals Identify and communicate benchmarks, ensuring all stakeholders receive and interpret data Develops and maintains the business partnerships that will help drive results to achieving the goal across multiple national and regional teams Provide in-the-field coaching and feedback to Managing Directors and Directors on the Partnership, Persistence, and Completion Team Manage a $1MM operating budget for the College Access, Persistence, and Completion Team What You Bring – Competencies Knowledge and Skills: Believes and is committed to our mission and being an agent of change: that all students are capable of getting to and through college Has demonstrated effective outcomes and results, and wants to be held accountable for them Has a propensity for action, willing to make mistakes by doing in order to learn and improve quickly Works with urgency and purpose to drive student outcomes Thrives in an entrepreneurial, high-growth environment; is comfortable with ambiguity and change Seeks and responds well to feedback, which is shared often and freely across all levels of the organization Works through silos and forges strong cross-departmental relationships in order to achieve outcomes Believes education as a profession and holds self accountable to high levels of conduct, professionalism and behaviors as models for our colleagues and students.
Required experience: Education: Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred Experience: At least 7 years of full-time professional experience required with at least 5 years of College Access experience Experience: At least 3 years of successful management experience (leading others to a record of results while exhibiting strong organizational health and staff retention) Physical Requirements: · Must be able to sit for extended periods of time without being able to leave the work area.
What We Offer: Compensation & Benefits: Salaries for people entering this role typically fall between $103,800 and $129,600, commensurate with relevant experience and qualifications and in alignment with internal equity.
This role is also eligible for performance pay based on organizational performance and goal attainment.
