Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Mortgage Loan Officer to join our team.
The mortgage loan officer is responsible for developing business relationships, soliciting mortgage customers, and handling customer screenings and loan pre-approvals.

*Job Responsibilities: *
· Developing own residential loan pipeline and building their own portfolio.
· Process the bank’s consumer real estate loans.
· Developing new business, structuring and closing residential mortgage loans.
· Maintain and service all existing portfolios.
· Support the bank’s strong relationship banking culture through on-going customer contact, quality customer service and superior product knowledge.
· Interview applicants and provide loan product information to existing or potential customers.
· Aggressively seek and obtain quality new business through client and prospect calls, referrals, and cross selling efforts.
· Negotiate terms, structure loan financing based on risk considerations and present credits for approval
· Responsible for sales, underwriting, proper loan structuring, and client interviewing.
· Maintain a working knowledge of bank policies, procedures, and pertinent lending regulations.
· Prepare underwriting documentation pertinent to each loan transaction and review approved loan terms with customer.
· Monitor loan repayment activities and collect on past due accounts.
· Prepare Adverse action notice and loan closing procedures
· Review consumer loan documents for compliance with bank policy, state and federal regulations, and state legal requirements.
· Ensure lien documentation is precise and complete.
· Confer legal counseling as necessary to assure legal enforcement.
· Order construction inspections and coordinate with customers
· Greet and assist customers in a friendly, professional manner, and provide exceptional customer service at all stages of the loan process.
· Offer and promote banking products to customers that may fulfill their financial needs.
· Represent the bank in key community activities.
*Required Skills/Abilities:*
· Exhibit strong initiative and attention to detail, demonstrate the ability to handle multiple tasks at one time.
· Fluent in English/Spanish required
· Excellent verbal and communication skills.
· Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
· Excellent organization and time-management skills.
· Proficiency in computer software, including Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
· Effective in planning, prioritizing, and executing tasks in a timely manner.
· Strong productivity level and organizational abilities.
· Trustworthiness and the ability to act with integrity.
*Education and Experience: *
High school diploma or equivalent experience
· Three (3) year mortgage/real estate processing, servicing or origination required
· Mortgage loan originator license
*Requirements: *
· Ability to work in a fluid paced environment and be held to minimum production standards.
· Must be able to sit for long period of time
· Movement is inherent in the job as well as restriction to workspace for prolonged periods.
· Must have a valid driver license, and the ability to drive a vehicle for business related purposes.
