GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB:
To ASSIST THE OPERATIONS MANAGER AND OR DIRECTOR WITH DAILY OPERATIONS OF THE ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES DEPARTMENT.
To FILL IN FOR THE OPERATIONS MANAGER AND OR DIRECTOR DURING THEIR ABSENCE.
ALSO PERFORMS DUTIES OF CUSTODIAN AS NEED AND
TO TRAIN NEW STAFF MEMBERS

lock up cleaning cart to prevent children from accessing any chemicals).
Supervises Environmental Services staff.
Performs and documents daily inspections to evaluate job performance and cleanliness levels and follow up to ensure discrepancies are corrected.
Trains and retrains staff on cleaning procedures and uses of equipment.
Make changes to assignment as need to meet the needs of the facility.
Make requests to supplies as need
Maintains work and project records.
Responsible for maintaining the high standard of cleanliness.
Coordinates department activities with other depaltments.
Performs staff evaluations and prepares necessary reports.
Counsels and disciplines staff accordingly.
Practice safety awareness and ensures the same from staff.
Knowledge of proper cleaning procedure for patient rooms, offices, and all other areas.
Knowledge of floor care methods and uses of all equipment.
Knowledge of infection control policies and procedures
Knowledge of handling infectious waste, regular waste, and recycled waste.
Knowledge of using Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Reports needed repairs and safety hazards.
Delegate all "STATS" requests without delay.
Adheres to hospital and department attendance guidelines.
Adheres to hospital and department health and educational requirements.
Attends, and sometimes conducts department meetings Conducts department in-services
Knowledge of Safety Plan, Fire Plan, Disaster Plan, and other DCH codes.
Communicates with Operations Manager or Director on areas that need clarification or guidance.
Other duties as assigned
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Effectively administers performance management system including: developmental feedback goal setting assesses competency progressive discipline
Strong knowledge of and effective in administering hospital policies and procedures.
Responsible for sound management of human resources.
Makes and implements decisions compatible with organizational goals.
Maintains composure, effectiveness, and flexibility under pressure.
Supervises the following job classes:
Housekeeping
Laundry Aide
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
—High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; oi equivalent combination of education and experience.
— Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
