Number of Vacancies 1 Location Edinburg, Texas Department Institutional Accreditation FTE 1 FLSA Exempt Scope of Job Manages the academic contract review and approval process for academic and health related colleges and schools.
Advises academic and administrative offices and external agencies, providing training and support for contract management.
Reviews drafts of accreditation narratives and reports and provides feedback.
Drafts reports for submission to accrediting bodies and other external agencies.
Develops and maintains departmental databases and webpages.
Conducts research related to report and policy development/revision.
Prepares analytical reports for use in institutional decision-making.
Description of Duties Manages academic and/or clinical affiliation agreements/contract review and approval process for academic and health related colleges, academic and student support services, and other student-related offices, including advising UTRGV offices, developing and providing contract-related training, collaborating with UTRGV legal counsel, and coordinating with external agencies.
Serves as liaison for SACSCOC narrative writers, editing reports and recommending revisions, ensures all reports accurately represent the university, maintains narrative drafts, tracks levels of completion, and reviews/approves documentation.
Assists in drafting substantive change prospectuses, drafting notification letters, and preparing forms for submission.
Reviews specialized accreditation standards and guidelines and applies them to written reports.
Ensures all reports accurately represent the university and its programs, operations, services, and activities.
Maintains narrative drafts, tracks levels of completion, and reviews/approves documentation.
Develops and maintains department databases for tracking contract-related correspondence and documentation as well as executed contracts, reports, external approvals, teaching site approvals, specialized accreditations, program documentation, etc.
May manage graduate teaching assistant credentialing process, including collecting GTA reports from all colleges each semester, reviewing and providing feedback on submitted reports.
May assist in faculty data management in Watermark/FPT for faculty qualifications purposes; generates faculty rosters/reports for departmental proposals.
Analyzes and condenses university data for departmental and accreditation purposes.
Conducts research related to report and policy development; prepares reports for department, university, and external use prepares documentation associated with reports; troubleshoots electronic report/document issues.
Develops and maintains content for assigned department webpages, including reviewing content for update/revision, developing new content, recommending revisions to ensure compliance with UTRGV and external requirements.
Reviews assigned new/revised university, college, and department webpages prior to publication to ensure accuracy and compliance with external requirements, recommends edits/revisions to content and formatting.
Submits changes to UMC and reviews updates prior to university webpage publication.
May oversee departmental purchasing, verification, and documentation of expenditures, tracking department/project expenditures and future funds, and management of departmental assets.
May manage department inventory/assets and oversee schedules/travel.
Responsible for all logistics associated with SACSCOC/accreditation site visits, including preparation of budget, booking travel for external site visitors, preparation for meeting agenda, room scheduling, coordinating calendars, preparation of meeting rooms, arranging transportation and lodging/meals, arranging IT support, internet access, networked printers, and laptops on request.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
Preferred Education Master’s degree from an accredited university; experience in higher education environment.
Licenses/Certifications Not Applicable Required Experience Four (4) years of higher education experience, including experience with accreditation, managing complex processes or projects, data analysis and/or drafting/reviewing reports to meet external agency requirements.
Preferred Experience Experience in database development and maintenance as well as experience with contract review and approval processes.
Direct experience with accreditation and compliance in a higher education environment.
Direct experience with webpage development and design.
Equipment Use of standard office equipment.
Working Conditions Needs to be able to successfully perform all required duties.
Office Environment: some travel and weekend work may be required.
UTRGV is a distributed institution, which requires presence at multiple locations throughout the Rio Grande Valley.
This position will be based primarily on campus and will not be eligible for a hybrid or remote work arrangement.
