As part of our mission, we also believe in building and strengthening the community by offering free and low cost CPR and first aid classes to at-risk and low income families.
We will pay for American Heart Association CPR Instructor training for the selected candidates.
The selected candidates would teach CPR and First Aid classes in multiple locations in the valley for 5-6 hour shifts (includes paid travel time over 30 min) Hours are mainly in the daytime and occasionally on weekends.
The position will require physical activity and computer knowledge.
Must like working with people and be able to present the material in a friendly, easy-to-understand, and competent manner.
We serve a population with disabilities of all types- the selected individuals must be friendly and flexible in providing assistance and support to our CK members and their families.
Must also be able to help out at fundraising events throughout the year as needed.
Capable Kids *Job Title:* CPR Training Specialist *Job Summary:* Under supervision of the CEO and the Programming Coordinator, the CPR Training Specialist, carries out the implementation of activating programming to meet the needs of our members in the RGV.
*Nature and* *Scope of Job:* Position provides training and support for the CK Save A Life Program for all CK service locations as needed.
Close cooperation will be required between this position and the other teams to achieve the goals of the program.
*Responsibilities:* 1.
Implements scheduled Programming within established guidelines and procedures.
2.
Works a flexible schedule, participating in evening and/or weekend activities as needed.
3.
Works closely with the CEO and Programming Coordinator to implement and maintain highly visible programs.
4.
Maintains an open, positive relationship with the management of all partner organizations.
5.
Follows the agency’s safety and health procedures to ensure safe working practices on the job.
6.
Plans and coordinates various Lifelong Learning functions at various locations including townships within Cass County.
7.
Provides the CEO and Programming Coordinator with all required data for reports.
8.
Maintains and updates computerized attendance of activities and events.
9.
Participates in staff meetings as required.
10.
Performs other duties as assigned.
*Minimum Qualifications:* Education: This position requires a high school diploma and preferred experience working with children and/or the disabled community.
Skills: Must have advanced level computer experience, able to create Word documents, spreadsheets and calendars.
Be able to do basic IT troubleshooting, present material effectively and work well with a diverse audience.
Must have excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills and have an ability to work well with a diverse population.
Experience: One to three years of prior experience coordinating programs or services preferred.
Prior experience recruiting speakers for events preferred.
Other: Bi-lingual.
Must maintain a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation Certifications: Must maintain current CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications.
