44 Max PRIMARY PURPOSE: To manage the effective use of the open access lab and provide assistance to teaching staff and students in the lab.
QUALIFICATIONS: TEA certification requirements No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 Requirements for Paraprofessionals that include one of the following: • completed at least 2 years of study at an institution of higher education; or • obtained an associate's degree; or • met a rigorous standard of quality and can demonstrate, through a formal State or local academic assessment - knowledge of, and the ability to assist in instructing, reading, writing, and mathematics; or knowledge of, and the ability to assist in instructing, reading readiness, writing readiness, and mathematics readiness, as appropriateHigh School Graduate or GED Experience: Working knowledge of hardware, software, and networks Experience working in a school environment preferred Knowledge/Skills: Ability to accurately follow verbal and written instructions Sensitivity and flexibility in working with adults and students Skills in scheduling organization and time management Dependability regarding punctuality and attendance Communicate effectively (verbal and written) MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: • Maintain and ensures the effective use of the open access lab.
• Work with the Campus Technology Contact in scheduling the lab and assisting teachers in conducting computer training for class projects in the lab.
• Maintain hardware, installs software and keeps lab and equipment clean for the successful utilization of the open access lab.
• Keep staff informed of lab schedule and encourages the initiation of new computer projects.
• Assist participating teachers in the implementation and development of curriculum units with technology integration.
• Serve as a technology resource person for campus staff.
• Maintain knowledge which is current on computer training, emerging technologies and internet projects.
• Communicate with and assists the Campus Technology Support Specialist at the campus.
• Ability and willingness to observe professional and ethical work standards and handle confidential and security sensitive information.
• Performs all duties in a safe manner to avoid injury to oneself and/or to others.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
