Job Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable individual to join our team as a Hardware Store Associate, specializing in the Plumbing and Electrical Department.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of plumbing and electrical supplies, tools, and applications.
This role requires excellent customer service skills, as you will be assisting customers with their hardware needs, providing expert advice, and ensuring a positive shopping experience.
Key Responsibilities: Customer Service: Greet customers and assist them in locating and selecting plumbing and electrical supplies.
Answer questions and provide guidance on product usage, installation, and maintenance.
Product Knowledge: Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of the store’s plumbing and electrical inventory, including tools, fixtures, wiring, pipes, and fittings.
Advise customers on the best products for their specific projects.
Sales Support: Help customers with their purchases, provide product comparisons, and suggest additional items as needed.
Process sales transactions at the register.
Stock Management: Monitor inventory levels, restock shelves, and organize products in the plumbing and electrical department.
Assist in receiving and unloading new shipments.
Demonstrations and Workshops: Conduct in-store demonstrations on the use of various plumbing and electrical products.
Participate in organizing and leading DIY workshops for customers.
Problem-Solving: Assist customers in troubleshooting common plumbing and electrical issues, providing practical and safe solutions.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with other department associates to ensure a cohesive store operation.
Assist in other departments as needed.
Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
Ensure that the plumbing and electrical department is compliant with all relevant regulations.
Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in plumbing or electrical trades is a plus.
Prior experience in retail, especially in a hardware store, plumbing, or electrical sales.
Strong understanding of plumbing and electrical systems, tools, and materials.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Ability to lift heavy objects and stand for extended periods.
Basic computer proficiency for inventory and sales software.
Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
