Work involves coordinating the dissemination of information, developing filing systems, and coordinating internal administrative support work.
May supervise the work of others.
Work under limited supervision, with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

Interpret and disseminate information concerning division programs and procedures.
2.
Coordinate the preparation, editing, and distribution of correspondence, reports, studies, forms, and documents.
3.
Coordinate general office duties such as ordering supplies, performing basic bookkeeping work, and assisting with general Human Resources work.
4.
Coordinate meetings, conferences, and seminars.
5.
Develop and maintain filing, record-keeping, and records management systems.
6.
Respond to inquiries regarding technical program or administrative regulations, policies, and procedures.
7.
Participate in the planning and execution of an agency program.
8.
Compile and edit data for charts, graphs, logs, and databases; prepares summaries or reports.
9.
Assist in researching technical issues.
10.
Answer phone calls, route incoming calls, take messages, greet visitors, and direct visitors to the appropriate staff.
11.
Manage and maintain schedules and travel arrangements for supervisors/managers.
12.
May research compose, design, or edit agency publications such as brochures, forms, manuals, and reports or presentations.

May develop and review training materials.
14.
May review and edit reports to ensure compliance with rules and regulations.

Qualifications GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS and REQUIREMENTS Education – Graduation from a standard senior high school or equivalent is required.
Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a major in Liberal Arts, Business or Public Administration, Social Science, or a related field is preferred.
Experience – Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in an environment involving concentrated use of personal computers using word processing software in a law enforcement environment is required.
Substitution Note: Education of the type described may be substituted for the experience requirement on a year-for-year basis.
Licensure and/or Certification – Must possess a valid driver license from state of residence.
Regulatory knowledge – Working knowledge of, or the ability to rapidly assimilate information related to TXDPS, State and Federal regulations, legislation, guidelines, policies and procedures.
Interpersonal Skills – Must demonstrate an ability to exercise poise, tact, diplomacy and an ability to establish and maintain positive, working/professional relationships with internal/external customers.
Organizational and Prioritization Skills – Must be organized, flexible, and able to effectively prioritize in a multi-demand and constantly changing environment; able to meet multiple and sometimes conflicting deadlines without sacrificing accuracy, timeliness or professionalism.
Research and Comprehension – Must demonstrate ability to quickly and efficiently access relevant information, and be able to utilize and/or present research and conclusions in a clear and concise manner.
Analytical Reasoning/Attention to Detail – Must demonstrate an ability to examine data/information, discern variations/similarities, and be able identify trends, relationships and causal factors, as well as grasp issues, draw accurate conclusions, and solve problems.
