Duties:
- Perform general bookkeeping duties, including maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
- Reconcile bank accounts and credit card statements
- Conduct account analysis to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
- Assist with payroll processing and ensure compliance with relevant regulations
- Prepare and submit tax forms, such as sales tax returns and payroll tax reports
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities
- Collaborate with management to develop financial policies and procedures
- Utilize accounting software, such as QuickBooks, Xero, or other similar programs
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar role
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
- Proficiency in using QuickBooks Online
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and analysis
- Ability to perform balance sheet reconciliations and account analysis
- Knowledge of technical accounting concepts, such as governmental accounting or corporate accounting, is a plus
- Familiarity with general ledger accounting processes
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
