As an Architectural Intern, your role will be an active member of our design team collaborating with Design Directors, Project Architects, and Project Managers to develop technical and creative architectural solutions for various project types.
The role will include progressive all-around experience and responsibility commensurate with experience managing and coordinating project design through all phases of construction documents and construction administration.
SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES WILL BE ABLE TO:
• Translate an architect's or engineer's design sketches and documents into a comprehensive 2D/3D production model
• Participate in all project phases, including conceptual designs, presentations, schematic design, design development, construction documents, and production
• Collaborate with consultants, contractors, regulatory agencies, and various other design team members to meet overall project objectives
• Produce graphic presentations, 3D renderings, and construction drawings
• Communicate graphically as required to team members and clients.
• Occasional site visits to perform site investigations and construction observations
• Assist Project Managers with construction administration responsibilities such as submittal reviews, RFI responses, tracking deliverables, document control, etc.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Minimum 1 year of prior experience working with commercial projects
• Bachelor of Architecture from a NAAB accredited university
• Proficient with AutoCAD and Revit modeling
• Knowledge of building design and construction means, methods, and techniques
• Knowledge of relevant building codes and accessibility requirements
• Ability to read redlines and modify models or drawings
• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and/or SketchUp
• Proficiency with Word, Excel, Outlook
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to write clearly to communicate technical issues and design ideas
• Excellent attention to detail
• Strong organization, planning, and time management habits
